  • Author: Megan B-L
  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving—12 ounces 1x
  • Category: Drinks

Rich liquid chocolate + your favorite tea = Soul

  • 2 tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose leaf tea, your choice (see notes)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon baking cocoa
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons good quality semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 pinches salt
  • honey to taste

  1. Boil water & steep tea in a mug for 7 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, add baking cocoa and 1 tablespoon milk in a glass measuring cup. Stir quickly until cocoa is fully hydrated and mixture is smooth.
  3. Add rest of milk to make 3/4 cup. Heat in microwave for a minute and a half or until hot.
  4. Add chocolate chips and 2 pinches of salt, let sit for a couple minutes so chips can melt.
  5. Stir milk & chocolate mixture until chips are melted and everything is smooth.
  6. When tea is ready, remove tea bags and add hot chocolate mixture to the mug.
  7. Stir and add honey if you prefer more sweetness.
  8. Drink & soothe soul!

  • Choose a tea that would compliment chocolate. I recommend a vanilla or chai tea, but feel free to experiment!
  • You could easily make this dairy free by using a non-dairy milk alternative and dairy-free chocolate chips.
